What does electricity do to the environment?
Q. I am doing a project on how much really electricity impacts the environment. I'm only asking questions that basically I can't find. I figured another person with another veiw on this would point me in the direction of finding a source for my research. What are various things that you know electricity does to the environment? How much does it affect the environment? How much does turbines and solar panels have to with the damage? Do they cause the majority of the damage? I'm mainly looking for a source regarding how much damage(to the environment)solar panels and turbines make by producing electricity. List your sources to the exact place you found the information.

A. The most significant damage to the environment in the production of electricity is the pollution from coal burning power plants. Dark plums of pollution are released into the atmosphere causing acid rain, smog, cancer and even global warming. The next most significant damaging electrical production process is actually hydro-electric dams. Although the production of electricity from these damns are pollution free, the fact that they stop the flow of water is what causes the most damage. This creates stagnant water with rotting leaves and debree which break down and create methane gasses. Not to mention the ecological disasters that happen down stream from lack of sediment and nutriants. Wind power/wind turbines are very clean and very… [cont.]

What would happen to the environment if hydrogen became a fule source?
Q. Right now the water cycle is a closed system. If hydrogen became a fuel source, how would that throw off the ecological balance of water in the environment? Even if we recover hydrogen from water, is it a closed system or does it have leaks.

A. I suppose if we used Wind and Solar energy to produce the hydrogen that would eliminate the production leak. However, I was told the only bi-product of burning hydrogen gas was water? This, chemically, doesn't make sense. Can anyone add to this?

How would you structure the learning environment when teaching older ladies to golf?
Q. I have to teach a bunch of older ladies to golf, specifically how to long drive. There are a couple of them who are far sighted. How would you structure the learning environment so there will be no distractions when teaching them?
Asked by ging - Fri Oct 31 16:35:36 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I would teach the game the same I would for any age. I don't know how old these ladies are, but I am curious why you think they would be more distracted than any other age group. If they are going to be easily distracted during lessons it will happen when they play, too. As far as being far sighted ask one to stand behind the other so she can help spot the ball. I play with a lady who is 80 and she is the most focused player on the league when she is hitting.

Environmentalism is a concern for the preservation, restoration, or improvement of the natural environment, such as the conservation of natural resources, prevention of pollution, and certain land use actions.

  • I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species. I realized that you humans are not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You move to an area, and you multiply and multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.
